Selenium Decreases the Cadmium Content in Brown Rice: Foliar Se Application to Plants Grown in Cd-contaminated Soil

چکیده
Abstract Cadmium (Cd) contamination in agricultural soils has become a serious issue owing to its high toxicity threat human health through the food chain. The purpose of this paper is explore availability foliar selenium (Se) application reducing Cd enrichment brown rice. A field experiment from 2017 2019 was conducted investigate effects Se on physiology and yields three rice cultivars their accumulation low-Cd high-Cd soils. grain protein contents plants grown soil were lower than those cultivated by 27.85% 6.82%, whereas malondialdehyde (MDA) higher 66.06% 91.47%, respectively. reduced translocation stems leaves spikes, decreasing content 40.36%. Additionally, enhanced antioxidative activity, glutathione contents, yield (7.58%) decreased MDA proline contents. However, these weakened under soil. Foliar can alleviate Cd-induced physiological stress while improving content.

Foliar zinc biofortification effects in Lolium rigidum and Trifolium subterraneum grown in cadmium-contaminated soil
Zinc (Zn) is an important micronutrient that can alleviate cadmium (Cd) toxicity to plants and limit Cd entry into the food chain. However, little is known about the Zn-Cd interactions in pasture plants. We characterized the effects of foliar Zn application and Cd uptake by ryegrass (Lolium rigidum L.) and clover (Trifolium subterraneum L.) grown on Cd-contaminated soils; all combinations of fo...
متن کاملAssessment of cadmium uptake and nutrient content in sunflower plants grown under Cd stress
Sunflower plants were grown on soil contaminated with several levels of Cd (from 0.3 to 15 mg Cd kg/soil). Cd and nutrient (Cu, Zn, Fe, Ca, K, Mg) contents were evaluated in root and aboveground biomass during the vegetative growth period (from the emergence of the cotyledon leaves to the flower bud phase). An overall increase of Cd content was found in the plants during the growing cycle. Sign...

The effects of soil inoculation with phosphoriencontaining phosphate-dissolving bacteria (PDB) and/or magnesium (Mg) foliar application at the rates of 0, 0.5 and 1mM on growth, green pod and seed yields, and chemical constituents of Pisum sativum L. grown on a sandy calcareous soil were investigated. Results indicated that PDB and/or Mg significantly increased shoot length, number of branches ...
